WSQ PERFORM BLASTING AND PAINTING WORK

Introduction

This Blasting and Painting Work Course equips participants with essential skills and knowledge to perform high-quality surface treatment and coating tasks. The course emphasizes workplace safety, compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) legislation, and adherence to organizational procedures. Participants will learn to prepare surfaces effectively, execute blasting operations, and apply paint coatings with precision. Course Information

This unit is relevant to operators, technicians and supervisors across all process sector, to carry out basic blasting and painting works
(Blaster and Painter).

On completion of this competency unit; learners will
have the knowledge and application skills of surface
preparation using power tools, perform blasting and
painting to protect surface from corrosion and enhance
surface finishing in a process plant in compliance with
the legal requirements of WSH (Abrasive Blasting)

  • Identify common hazards and select appropriate
    PPE related to blasting and painting work in
    process plant.
  • Carry out blasting and painting operations, cleaning
    for surface preparation and standard of prepared
    surface.
  • Carry out check on blasted and painted surfaces for
    defects

(32hrs training + 8hrs assessment)
