The Singapore Workforce Development Agency is allocating a Grant of up to S$1,040,000 for ASPRI-Institute of Process Industry (ASPRI-IPI) to be the appointed Programme Manager for the Place and Train Apprenticeship Programme; Development and Apprenticeship (DNA) for the Process (Engineering Services) industry, commencing from 1 July 2013 and ending on 30 April 2015.
This programme is designed to support the growth of the Process industry, aimed at placing Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents into the industry.
The funding package comprises the following Grants:
- Training Allowance of up to 50% of the monthly salary capped at $1,400 per eligible trainee per month,
for up to 50 trainees, with a total training duration capped at 12 months; - Course fee funding of up to 70% per non-WSQ course (capped at $24/hour for in-house and $15/hr
for external non-WSQ courses) with an overall cap of $3,000 per eligible trainee, for up to 50 trainees;
and - Administrative funding for the placement of up to 50 Singapore Citizens/ Permanent Residents into the Process industry under the Programme, capped at $1,000 per placement achieved.
ASPRI-IPI will assist to
- Place and train 50 Singapore Citizens/Permanent Residents into the Process industry under the
Programme; - Offer career services to facilitate the placement;
- Work with participating companies to ensure that each new recruit goes through the structured
individual training plan; - To market and reach out to companies and individuals as to attract them to participate in the
Programme; - To disburse training allowances and course fee funding to companies/apprentices on behalf of WDA
- To track training outcomes of the apprentices being placed into a job
