This course provides participants with the essential knowledge and practical skills to carry out surface preparation and protective coating on complex metal surfaces.

Course Aim A blaster and painter is the one who performs surface preparation using hand tools, power tools, dry blasting and applies coating on treated metal complex surface using roller, brush or spray painting to prevent surface corrosion and enhance surface finishing so that finished products meet the required international standards and specification. Learning Objectives This course will equip participants with the knowledge and skills to perform surface preparation using hand tools, power tools, dry blasting and applies coating on treated metal complex surface using roller, brush or spray painting to prevent surface corrosion and enhance surface finishing so that finished products meet the required international standards and specification. 1. Maintain safe working environment. 2. Prepare ventilation for blasting / painting. 3. Check the condition of blasting equipment and accessories. 4. Set up blasting equipment and accessories. 5. Prepare surface before blasting. 6. Protect unblasted surface of work piece. 7. Perform surface preparation. 8. Perform function test on blasting system. 9. Perform abrasive blasting on complex structure. 10. Check blasted surface. 11. Maintain blasting equipment and accessories. 12. Set up spray painting equipment and accessories. 13. Perform mixing of paints. 14. Perform painting on complex metal surface. 15. Maintain painting equipment and accessories.
