This course is designed to equip participants with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to perform the role of a rigging and signalman in the Process Industry. It focuses on the safe and effective execution of lifting and rigging operations, including the selection and use of appropriate lifting equipment, proper load slinging techniques, and effective signaling to crane operators.

Course Aim A rigging and signalman is one who performs lifting and rigging works and assists in directing lifting operations involving processes such as selecting and using appropriate lifting gear, slinging loads, and signaling crane operators in accordance with WSH rules and regulations pertaining to working in the Process Industry. The work he/she performs includes the following: CE 1. Perform lifting operations preparation work CE 2. Perform lifting operations CE 3. Reinstate lifting operations work area Learning Objectives On completion of the course, participants should be able to appreciate the complexity involved in performing critical and complex rigging and/or signaling operations in accordance with relevant codes of practice and regulations pertaining to working in Process Industry. 1.
