This course aims to prepare individuals for the role of a rigging and signalman in the Process Industry. It covers key responsibilities such as selecting appropriate lifting gear, slinging loads, and signaling crane operators, all in compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations. Participants will be trained to carry out lifting operations safely and efficiently, with a focus on three core competencies: preparing for lifting operations, executing the lift, and reinstating the work area after operations.

Course Aim A rigging and signalman is one who performs lifting and rigging works and assists in directing lifting operations involving processes such as selecting and using appropriate lifting gear, slinging loads, and signaling crane operators in accordance with WSH rules and regulations pertaining to working in the Process Industry. The work he/she performs includes the following: CE 1. Perform lifting operations preparation work CE 2. Perform lifting operations CE 3. Reinstate lifting operations work area Learning Objectives On completion of the course, participants should be able to perform rigging and/or signaling operation involve the lifting works of lifting equipment/machine in accordance with relevant codes of practice and regulations pertaining to working in Process Industry.
