This course focuses on electrical fitting work, equipping students with the necessary skills to perform essential electrical tasks safely and effectively. The curriculum covers work preparation in accordance with Workplace Safety and Health legislation and organizational procedures. Participants will learn how to install cables, set up cable support systems, and maintain electrical motors. Additionally, the course includes training in repairing lamp fixtures and performing general maintenance work on batteries. By combining theory with hands-on practice, students will be well-prepared to carry out electrical fitting tasks in various settings while adhering to safety standards.
This unit is relevant to operators, technicians and supervisors across all process sector, to carry out electrical fitting work.
On completion of this competency unit; learners will
have the knowledge and application skills to interpret,
prepare, perform and terminate electrical fittings
installation, supports, cabling, testing, maintenance
and complete documentation in compliance with the
requirements of WSH Act, related regulations and
organizational safe work procedures
▪ Carryout installation of surfacecabling work
▪ Carry out work on low voltage armoured cables,
and perform routine maintenance of Low Voltage
(LV) AC motor
▪ Carry out connection work of fire alarm call point
▪ Carry out the sealing process for a certified conduit
system
▪ Identify the considerations when installation of
conduit in hazardous location
▪ Carryout cable disconnection to and re-connection
from AC motor, re-lampingwork, maintenance of
batteries
